Outsourcing is Insourcing ousting in an economy of Down and Out?
Insourcing is not something you hear every day, yet it seems that the weight of American society Outsourcing has tapered off and is in decline, with the U.S. dollar. In fact this is one of the reasons why this is happening now. People like Lou Dobbs has been pretty harsh on corporate America for outsourcing and sending jobs overseas. Of course, no group was more eloquent American labor unions.
We all know what outsourcing is and how bad it affects the U.S. economy and leads to massive layoffs. Now those jobs are coming back, and there are several reasons for this, but the main reason is the growing strength of foreign currencies against the greenback, the U.S. dollar. Insourcing is when companies decide they can afford to do the same jobs that you send to other countries, operations in-house or through spaces.
Ford Motor Company recently announced a plan to build other components here in the U.S. rather than built them outside the country or abroad and sending them back. Sending the parts partially assembled back and forth is a great cost of transport, which adds to the cost of the completion of the final product. With the dollar down, and save transportation costs, fuel, means that these companies can make things here for costs the same or very close to the same cost, without the hassles of shipping things half way around the world.
Insourcing in this case does exactly the opposite for the U.S. economy, which helps to lower the trade deficit, provides more jobs for Americans and it means a more streamline process. This is very good news for the manufacturing sector in the United States. Insourcing is a good thing, and it demonstrates the competitiveness of the United States. I like that, should put a smile on your face as well .......
