How To Install A Wireless Printer At Home Or The Office

WiFi networks are monopolizing the market for electronic equipment and today, almost all the PC peripherals can be enhanced with wireless technology from the keyboard and mouse to Ethernet and broadband connections. Wifi technology obviously provides great flexibility to the user and avoid the clutter of physical connections. One of the latest peripherals that no longer need cables are laser printers. As they play a much more practical than many other peripherals for PCs, printers have earned a reputation for annoying paper jams and ink running out just when we need them. However, printers are still an essential element in any office, so make them wireless printers is definitely a good idea.

Some printers with blue tooth function with its own IP address as a wireless client, while others are installed as a component of a wireless network installed. Anyway, all operate similarly. To install a wifi printer laser in your office or at home need a few elements and very little time. Once you have your PC and your printer, you just need a wifi adapter (most PCs already have built-in), a driver installation disk to CD or DVD and a wireless network set up, which also already installed on most offices and homes.

On your PC, access the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu and choose "Printers and Faxes". As you would for installing any printer, click on "Add a Printer" in the "Printing Tasks" and then click "Next". Then you will probably have to create a new connection port to the "Port Standard TCP / IP". Move to the next page. The next step is to assign an IP address to your new printer, to be distinguished from other wireless devices that your computer can use, and finally click "Finish" to complete the action.

After installing any peripheral on your computer is recommended that you reboot your system so you can identify the presence of the new hardware. Then, insert the installation disc into your CD or DVD and start it from the "My Computer". Open the disk and look for the driver installation file. Run this file and install it on your PC, resumed again after the driver has been fully installed.

Once both your wireless printer and the driver has been installed and recognized by your PC, it's time to do a test print. If the test is successful, you're about to end, you just have to find the best place to locate your printer. Obviously, wifi printers give you great flexibility when placing your printer at home or in your office, but it should occupy a central place accessible to all users and a comfortable height for use, ideally with a contiguous space to paper and ink.
